The Coalition for Smart Growth is presenting "A Community Forum on the Power of Trees:
Trees Make Neighborhoods Great on Tuesday April 1st, 2008 from 7pm-9pm at the Lancaster Farm & Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road, Lancaster, PA 17601. Speakers include
Dr. Bill Elmendorf, Assistant Professor and Sstate Extension Specialist for Community Forestry at PSU's Sschool of Forest Resources.
Julianne Schieffer, Penn State Extension Urban Forester ofr SE Pennsylvania. Ms. Schieffer has degrees in urban forestry and botany and tree pathology and specializes in tree and natural resources impacted by humans and infrastructure.
Studies Show that trees provide benefits to neighborhoods worth many times the cost of their planting and upkeep. Trees increase property values, make neighborhoods desirable and save energy, too. Learn why trees matter to our community, how to maintain community trees and increase Lancaster's tree canopy.
